Mixed Species Live Moss - 650ml
Our cultures of moss are picked sustainably from natural sources around Devon, and propagated by us at home under a grow light. Moss can take a long time to grow and spread in the wild, so it’s important not to over harvest! Contains a mixture of different common UK species such as Sphagnum, Feather, Swan's Neck Thyme Moss and Wood Bristle.
Moss is vital in a lot of different enclosure types and serves many different roles. Most importantly, moss is used as a natural substrate to help retain moisture to create a more humid habitat.
The moss can also be placed decoratively and encouraged to grow on hard surfaces to help create the perfect natural finish to your enclosure.
Mosses are also important for young and small invertebrates, such as isopods and millipedes, as an area of moisture, hiding place and food source in many bioactive enclosures.
Mosses do best in moist conditions with light, so be careful not to place the moss in darkness or let the enclosure get too dry.
