Natural Bark Hides
Provide your animals with the ultimate sense of security using our hand-selected Natural Bark Hides. Harvested from already-dead Devonshire hardwoods, these authentic curved bark sections create an immediate, organic sanctuary on your enclosure floor.
With their deeply textured exteriors and smooth, shaded undercuts, they act as the perfect defensive retreat, basking platform, and micro-climate trap for a vast range of terrestrial, fossorial, and climbing exotic pets.
- Some pieces will have some mosses and lichens growing on them and these make excellent pieces for natural decoration as well as providing a food source and biodegradable hide for many invertebrates.
- These pieces are ideal for terrestrial rainforest / forest terrariums which house critters that spend a lot of time on the ground, such as many species of millipede and cockroach which love to hide under pieces like these instead of completely burying themselves.
- Choosing to use natural decorations such as these benefits not only the health and natural aestethic of your enclosure, but supports the bioactive element as any detritovores and isopods will love feeding on natural yeasts and fungi that grow on the wood over time.
