This blend combines the unique structural advantages of seasoned Oak, Maple, Chestnut, and Beech leaves. Gathered from clean, protected woodlands, this mix is an absolute necessity for any bioactive terrarium, vivarium, or isopod culture—forming a dense, varied leaf litter layer that replicates a natural forest floor, locks in ambient substrate humidity, and serves as the staple diet for your clean-up crew.
Our mixed leaf litter is essential when keeping detritivores such as worms, millipedes, isopod, cockroaches and some species of beetle larvae to ensure that they receive a suitable captive diet. Our mix usually consists of any of Oak, Maple, Chestnut or Beech leaves.
Simply sprinkle dry leaves over the substrate surface to replicate a forest floor, or soak the leaves in distilled water and break them up to create a leaf mulch layer.
Either way, your detritus loving inhabitants will greatly appreciate the extra food and micro climates the leaves provide. These can also be used to create a natural feel in tarantula, mantid, and scorpion enclosures whilst providing coverage and food to clean up crew like springtails.
Leaves will be sent dry and leaf variety can vary between different times of year.
