Benoitolus siamensis (Siamese Glow Millipede) are small, docile, and social Thai millipedes that glow under UV light. They thrive at 22-28°C, 70-85% humidity, and need a deep substrate 12cm+ of rotting wood and leaf litter. These active, nocturnal foragers are perfect for beginners, feeding on vegetables and requiring calcium supplementation.
Care Summary
Temperature: 22-28°C (71-82°F).
Humidity: High, between 70-90%, maintained by regular misting.
Substrate: A deep layer 12cm+ soil mixed with decaying leaf litter and white wood is required.
Diet: Decaying leaves, white rotting wood, moss, vegetables (especially carrots), fruits, and calcium supplements like cuttlefish bone.
Enclosure: A terrarium (minimum 20x20x30 cm) with good, moist substrate for, sometimes active on the surface.
Behaviour: They are generally docile, slow-moving, and can be kept in groups.
Handling: Safe to handle, but they may secrete a defensive substance, so hand washing is necessary
Lifespan: Approximately 2–3 years.
Key Considerations
